He slept like a baby... fitfully, and with no small amount of screaming.

The phrase "slept like a baby" made total sense to me... until 9 nine years ago when our son was born. Then I realised that as perfect as a sleeping baby may appear... it rarely lasts for long.

I do not miss those nights.
